Ronald "Ron" Michael Shevnock

Born:  22 October 22, 1944 in Port Huron, MI
Died:  13 December 2018 in Fort Gratiot, MI

Ronald "Ron" M. Shevnock, age 74, of Fort Gratiot died unexpectedly of natural causes at his home on December 13, 2018. He was born October 22, 1944 in Port Huron to Thomas and Josephine Shevnock, and was a lifelong resident. He married Elizabeth "Beth" Ronan on November 28, 1964 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Huron. Ron was a lineman with Detroit Edison for nearly 40 years and was a member of the I.B.E.W. He enjoyed coaching hockey, camping, his ’69 Firebird convertible, attending classic car shows, and swimming at the Port Huron Fitness Center.

Ron was a devoted husband, father and Pops. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Beth” Shevnock, 2 children, Colleen (Marc Rubin) Shevnock, and David (Vicki) Shevnock, 5 grandchildren, Jacob and Lucas Rubin, Emily (Tyler) Meyers, and Joseph and Nicholas Shevnock, 2 siblings, Donald (Kathleen) Shevnock, and Suzanne (Richard) Hathaway, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Sandra. The Mass of the Resurrection will take place at 11 AM Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church with The Rev. Fr. Zibigniew Zomerfeld officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 2-8 PM at the Smith Family Funeral Home – North, 1525 Hancock Street. There will be a vigil service Monday evening. There will be no visitation at church on Tuesday before the Mass. Memorials may be made to Blue Water Hospice Home.
