PORT HURON, MI Carl Morris Schoenberg, 76, of Fort Gratiot, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.

He was born November 9, 1945 in Port Huron to the late Morris and Henrietta Schoenberg. He married Sharon K. Wellman on
September 14, 1967 in Pontiac, Michigan.

Carl was a 1963 graduate of Port Huron High School and received his journeyman’s card in tool & die design from Wirtz
Manufacturing. He then continued his education and earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Baker College. Carl
was employed as a manufacturing/quality engineer for most of his working career. In addition, he continued his love of
learning by teaching at RESA, Macomb Community College, SC4 and Baker College.

Carl enjoyed many interesting hobbies throughout his life such as coaching at Port Huron Minor Hockey and Fort Gratiot
Little League. He also loved classic cars and going to many car shows with Sharon. He collected Model G scale trains and
built an extensive train layout with a bridge and pond in their backyard.

They enjoyed their many trips to Mackinac Island as well as a very memorable trip to Germany and Austria where they
went on the “Sound of Music” tour in Salzburg.

Carl’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends. Carl was an avid sports enthusiast and loved
watching and talking about his kids and grandkids participating in many activities.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sharon; three children, Brad (Kris) Schoenberg of Fort Gratiot, Stacie
(Matthew) Rayman of Otsego and Jason (Sara) Schoenberg of Jeddo; three grandchildren, Tyler and Mattison Rayman
of Otsego and Mallory Schoenberg of Jeddo; his twin sister, Carol Schoenberg of Port Huron; sister, Joanne (Ken) Riedel
of St. Clair; niece, Daisy Riedel of Denver; many cousins and friends, including special friend, Tom Francis; and close
family friend, whom he treated like a daughter, Joleen Martin and her children, Emily and Grace.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2022 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 in Cornerstone Church, 4025 North Rd., Clyde,
with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Peter Foxwell will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
